About Dictyon
Founded by Company President, Dr. Regas Santas, Dictyon is a true industry innovator. This is no surprise as Dr. Santas himself is quite an innovator. Before focusing his attentions on the language services industry, Dr. Santas was a pioneer in the field of Marine Biology in his homeland of Greece.
As Dr. Santas’ work brought him into contact with an increasing number of colleagues from around the globe, he realized the need for a method by which people from different cultures and backgrounds could learn to not only communicate better with one another, but understand one another better as well.
Dr. Santas embarked on a mission to build a state-of-the-art facility devoted to language courses in which dedicated students would be matched with an equally dedicated staff of instructors and administrative support. Through the use of constantly evolving technology, he has aspired to create a network of businesses, communities and students, exchanging stories and thoughts from around the world, bridging cultural and distance gaps, in pursuit of a common goal—intercultural understanding and cooperation. His aspiration is reflected in the name he chose for his company, 'Dictyon,' derived from the Greek word meaning 'network.'
Since March, 2009, Dr. Santas, has been participating in the Interagency Language Roundtable Translation Error Notation Committee, an unfunded Federal interagency organization established for the coordination and sharing of information about language-related activities at the Federal level.
Dictyon currently occupies over 3000 sq. feet of Class A office space in Greenbelt, MD, conveniently located near Metrorail and Metrobus service. Dictyon’s state-of-the-art facility, equipped with computers, broadband Internet, and international satellite TV programming in every classroom enables students to reach and exceed their goals in an enjoyable environment that fosters creativity and learning.
Dictyon offers the following language services:
- Innovative foreign language courses;
- Turn-key translation including proofing, editing and DTP; and
- On-site and remote interpretation.
